Amy Schindler of Bloomer and Harlan Wagner of Colfax were married Aug. 20 at Holden Lutheran Church.

Amanda Roberts of Colfax and Elijah Prince of Bloomer were united in marriage May 29 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cooks Valley.

A son, Caleb Anthony Wolfe, was born Aug. 19 to Ryan and Jessica Wolfe at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

Playing in the Gridiron Classic held at UW-Stout, Colfax defeated Bangor 26-0 while Elk Mound won 39-26 over Wisconsin Heights.

A son, Joshua Michael Sarauer, was born  Aug. 20 to Karen and Fritz Sarauer.

Derek Horn rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns as Colfax defeated  Pepin-Arkansaw 28-0 in the season opener.

Elk Mound powered past Plum City 30-0 with W.J. Vincent throwing a pair of touchdown passes and a two point conversion pass to Trevor Linberg for the win.

Colfax graduate Kevin Eggers, Airman First Class, was recently selected as Airman of the Quarter for April through June at Hahn Air Force base in West Germany.

Born to Roger and Marlene Stabenow of Colfax, a son named Eric Steven on Aug. 17.

A daughter, Carrie Sue, was born Aug. 2 to Mr. and Mrs. Dave McCarville of Hopkins, Minn.

Mr. and Mrs. John Cracker of  St. Paul are the parents of a girl born Aug. 25.

Elk Mound’s Scot Miller snared four interceptions and scored two rushing touchdowns in a 22-0 win over Plum City.

Robbie Railton scored all seven points for Colfax on a two yard run and an extra point kick in a 7-3 win over St. Croix Central.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Swenson and family of Norton, attended the 25th wedding anniversary of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hublard in Ladysmith.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Nyhus are the parents of a son, Jeffrey James, born at Luther Hospital.

At the Daniel Boone archery course at Holy Hill, north of Milwaukee, Donald Hammer of Colfax won the state championship in the junior division in field archery.

Miss Borgny Bronken of Colfax and Dr. Sanford G. Eggeson of Montana were united in marriage at the Colfax Lutheran Church Aug. 27.

Fire of undetermined origin caused a total loss of Grimsrudes Grocery at Norton Monday afternoon.

At the Holden Church north of town yesterday, occurred the marriage of Mr. Carl J, Berg to Miss. Alma I. Anderson. They will begin housekeeping at the groom’s home in the town of Grant.

A new arrival in the form of a ten pound girl is reported at the James Gunderson home last Thursday, Sept. 3.

Don’t forget the Picture Show at the close of the Civic League Fair tomorrow at the Opera House.  Admission is only 10 cents and Children with Badges will be admitted free.
