BOYCEVILLE — The 2014 Boyceville Cucumber Festival is set to begin this Friday, August 15 and runs through Sunday the 17th.
The weekend long celebration will begin Friday evening with carnival games and inflatables opening on Main Street at 6:00 p.m.
Also starting at that time will be the 13th Annual Tractor, Garden Tractor and Machinery Show behind the High School.
The show will also be open starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and and then 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Then at 7:00 p.m., the Boyceville Lion’s Club will be hosting the “Ain’t No One Horse Town” parade.
The night time entertainment this year will be the Xchange Band. They will start at 9:00 p.m. under the Firefighters’ tent.
Saturday will start at 8:30 a.m. with the “OK” Cucumber 5K/10K run and 1 mile run/walk at the Middle School.
The TMS Tire and Auto Car Show on Main Street will be on display from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The car parade will follow at 2:30 p.m. and then the Radar Run at the airport will begin at 3:00 p.m.
The carnival games and inflatables will be back open starting at 11:00 a.m and closing at 7:00 that evening.
Also that afternoon on Main Street outside of the Buck-shot Bar will be their annual Bean Bag Tournament starting at noon.
A Comedian will also be providing entertainment under the Main Street tent from noon until 1:30 p.m.
Providing the evening entertainment will be the Michael D Band under the Firefighters’ tent at 9:00 p.m. as well.
At sun down, the fireworks shows will begin at Pafko Park. Any rain will push the display to Sunday night.
The Fly-In Pancake Breakfast and Air Show will be the kick off to the final day of the weekend with food being served from 7-11:00 a.m.
That morning there will be a pie and ice cream social presented by Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Inside at the high school commons, those who wish to meet the Ambassadors and Grand Marshals can do so starting at 10:30 a.m.
Back outside the Pickle Eating Contest will begin at 11:00 a.m. under the Firefighters’ tent.
Then the main event will start at 1:00 p.m. with Grand Marshals, Len and Mary Lagerstrom leading the parade.
Following the parade will be the Kiddie Tractor Pull on Main Street and Buffalo Allis will be providing a show under the Firefighters’ tent.
Also following the parade, employees at the Vault will announce the door prize winners.
Happening all weekend long will be the softball tournament at Pafko Park, there will be an outdoor craft and vendor fair on Main Street as well as several food vendors.
The Sno-Jammers will also be cooking chicken and homemade ice cream will be for sale.
Also on Main Street will be Pickle Central where the flower and vegetable show will be, pickle creations can be seen and the pickle contest will be held.
