Georgina R. Riedl was born February 22, 1919 in New Haven Township, WI.


She was united in marriage to George (Joe) Klinger on January 8, 1935 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Glenwood City, WI.

Along with being a wife and mother, she began working part-time at Stella Cheese, Doughboy Plastics in New Richmond, WI; followed by being a punch press operator in the Twin Cities. Her passion was sewing. She fashioned many clothing outfits; including Flower Girl dresses, Prom dresses, bridal gowns, and personal quilts for her grandchildren.

Georgina passed away June 7th, 2014 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond, WI; having reached the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; two sons, John and Peter; her parents; grandparents; sister, Josephine Klingelhoets; two brothers, Joe and Bert Riedl; daughter-in-law, Barbara (DeLong) Klinger; son-in-law, Duane DeLong; brother-in-law, Adolph Christensen; along with many other brothers and sisters in law.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Betty (Hector) Campbell of St. Paul, MN; Pat DeLong of Emerald, WI; and Bob (Dorothy) Klinger of Woodbury, MN, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Funeral services are June 11, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glenwood City at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before. Father John Long officiating, Marion Schmitz as organist, and St. John’s funeral choir providing the music.

Pallbearers are Dan DeLong, Tony Campbell, Peter DeLong, Cory DeLong, Jeremy Leduc, and Steve Wurst. Honorary pallbearers are Teri Lauer, Sharon Wurst, Paulette Klinger, Debbie Wittmer, Julie Campbell, Jeff DeLong, Scott Klinger, and Gary Klinger.
