Town of Tiffany goes with Boyceville for ambulance

By LeAnn R. Ralph

BOYCEVILLE — After much discussion at the annual meeting and discussion among the town board members, the Tiffany Town Board has approved putting 100 percent of the township into the Boyceville ambulance district.

Mike Blechinger, a supervisor on the town board and representing the Town of Tiffany on the ambulance district board, reported at the May 14 meeting that the town board had approved putting all of the township into the Boyceville ambulance service area.

Before this, the Glenwood City ambulance service covered part of the Town of Tiffany.

At a previous ambulance district meeting, Blechinger had said that the Tiffany Town Board had nothing against Glenwood City but that putting the entire township into the Boyceville service area might be more convenient for township residents.

The Tiffany Town Board also is considering putting the entire township into the Boyceville fire district, Blechinger said.

The town board is still exploring that as an option because many residents in Tiffany, especially on the west side, are concerned that putting the township into the Boyceville fire district would cause insurance rates to increase since the property would be farther away from the fire station, he said.
