Tina Rae Zunker, age 42, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at home surrounded by her family, after a three and a half month hard fought battle with colon cancer.

Tina Rae Owen was born Feb. 21, 1972 in Menomonie, WI to Charles and Carol (Dicks) Owen and baptized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie.

Tina attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School in Durand and graduated from Colfax High School in 1990.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business from U.W. Stout in December of 1995.  While attending Stout she met her future husband Timothy Zunker.  They were married on May 8, 1998 at a church in Las Vegas, NV.

Tina worked at Xcel Energy until the birth of her son Jackson, when she became a stay at home mom.

She loved crafts, antiques and searching garage sales for treasures with her neighbor Tony Nowacki and she also loved looking for Lake Superior Agates.

Throughout all her health struggles Tina always kept her great sense of humor and will be sadly missed.

Tina is survived by her husband Tim G. Zunker of Menomonie; son Jackson C. Zunker of Menomonie; her parents, Charlie and Carol Owen of Colfax; her brother Troy (Haley) Owen of Whitefish Bay, WI and their children, Ivy, Ruby, Howie and Charlie Owen; her maternal grandmother Mary Dicks of Menomonie; aunts and uncles, Dennis Dicks of Menomonie, Paul (Connie) Dicks of Colfax, Janice (Bill) Kohnke of Elk Mound, Karl (Kim) Dicks of Menomonie; Theresa (Arnold) Michels of Colfax; mother-in-law, Roxie Zunker of Rhinelander, WI; father-in-law, Les (Denise) Zunker of Rhinelander, WI; sister-in-aw, Tina (Jerry) Schmitz of Rhinelander and their children, Adam, Nathan and Joseph Schmitz; brother-in-law, Troy (Cathy) Zunker of Menomonie and their children, Caitlyn, Marie and Alex Zunker; and also survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Daryl and Marion Owen; maternal grandfather, Archie Dicks; two aunts, Jane Owen and Alana Tuschl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie with Father Tom Krieg officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, followed with a group prayer.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
