Daniel Coates of Wheeler and Echo Wagner of Colfax were married May 24, 2003 at Colfax Lutheran Church.

The Colfax baseball team extended its winning streak to eight games with wins over Amery, St. Croix Central and Boyceville.

The Colfax Women’s Club observed its 100th anniversary with a luncheon at Colfax Lutheran Church May 1.

Five young women including Jennifer Bennesch, Elisha Odegard, Christa Davis, Heidi Schindler and Sheri Rude are campaigning hard for the crown of queen of the 1989 Colfax Fair June 22-25.

Taking top honors of the Tournament of Champions sponsored by Viking Bowl were members of the Sidetrack Bar with Larry Plaszcz, Tom Dunbar, Roger Paulson, Ralph Bradford and Ken Tape.

The Colfax School District’s library and media program gained national recognition for its use of modern computer technology during the National School Board Association Convention in Anaheim, Calif. Donna Higbie and Pat Wassink, library media specialists for the district and Marion Loew, school board president, gave a presentation on the program.

A daughter, Sabrina Marie was born to Mr. and Mrs. Steven Anderson May 11 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Born to Dr. and Mrs. Dale Winget of Colfax,, a son, Ryan Boyd May 11.

Mr. and Mrs. James Riebe, New London, Minn. announce the birth of a daughter, Holly Lynn born May 2.

A daughter, Joni Lynn was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Koehler May 11 at Memorial Hospital in Menomonie.

Twins, Kevin Richard and Kristi Renee, were born May 5 to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson of Bloomer at Sacred heart Hospital.

Kris Kressin won the shot put and Jerry Marko the pole vault for Colfax at the home track meet May 10.

In the Cadott track meet May 8, three Elk Mound competitors placed first including Don Stuckert in the high jump, Ron McConnell in the discus and Al Douglas in the mile run.

A 55th wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lofthus was celebrated at their home with many family members and friends.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hernandez (nee Margery Knight) of St. Paul, a daughter Juanita Maria May 7.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gibson (nee Vonnie Freestone) of Eau Claire, a daughter named Connie Jean May 10 at Luther Hospital.

The Colfax baseball team played its first night game ever under the new lighting system at the Colfax athletic field Tuesday night and lost 10 to 9 to Bloomer.

Gust Johannesson of Colfax who has been employed as an engineer on the boat E.J. Kulas on the Great Lakes, fell from a smoke stack and suffered injuries that will confine him to a hospital for several months.

Colfax mayor Sam Iverson drove to St. Paul twice last week and talked with the Corps of Engineers relating to the prospective dam on the 18 mile creek to replace the dam on Main Street which went out a number of years ago.

After moving from this locality a few years ago, Mr. Dale Sherburne married Miss Gertie Carruthers April 25 in Lethbridge, Canada, where they will make their home.

Dr. C. W. Brown was over from Chippewa Falls to do some dental work on the horses of W. E. Raven, and he says it is the best bunch of horses he ever saw used by a contractor.

Miss Ida Peterson of Colfax and Eugene McComb of Wheaton were married Monday with a reception given at the home of the groom.
