Ronald B. Brettingen, age 83 of Glenwood City, WI died Sunday May 4, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, WI.

Ron was born May 1, 1931 in Norton, WI to Morris and Bertha (Holte) Brettingen. After high school he served with the Army & Air Force reserves. Ron married Donna Pearson May 1, 1954 in Glenwood City, WI. He would repair others’ golf clubs, and he enjoyed spending time golfing and the coffee group. He owned and operated the Indianhead Motor Plaza for several years. They enjoyed traveling to every state except Alaska. He was a great artist, doing drawings of many people in the area.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents.

Ron is survived by wife Donna Brettingen; children Doreen (Tom) Best, Lori (Mark) Voeltz and Darren Brettingen, all of Glenwood City, WI; grandchildren Andy (Kristy) Johnson, Adam (Kari) Johnson, Casey Voeltz (Annie Yang), Ronni Leslie Voeltz, Taylor Voeltz, Tena Best, Elizabeth Best, Joe Best (Kayla Jackelen), Jason (Jeane) Best and Ryan Best; great grandchildren Aidan, Abbie & Noah Johnson, Matthew and Lilly Johnson, Mason Voeltz, Chesney, Cora & Landyn Leslie, Jayden & Jonathan Best; brother Orrie (Annabel) Brettingen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City with Reverend Diane House officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City, WI. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
