Robert T. Herrick, 34, of Chicago passed away peacefully on March 28, 2014, due to complications from heart surgery, surrounded by his parents, Daniel (Rick) and Ann Herrick, and his partner, Emily Moen.

He lived a passionate and full life, valuing relationships above all else. He lived for making memories with the people he loved all over the world. He graduated from LaSalle Language Academy, St. Ignatius H.S., Skidmore College, and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business M.B.A. He was a senior consultant with Infosys and also worked with Euromonitor International, the U.S. Peace Corps in Thailand, and as an ESL teacher in Chile. He volunteered for several years as a tutoring mentor for the inner city youth program Cabrini Connections in Chicago. He was especially appreciative of the Lurie Children’s Hospital Cardiac Care Unit nurses’ support during his last months.

He is survived by his parents, his partner and her family, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, his five exchange student “siblings”, many close friends and colleagues.

His memorial service was held April 12 at St. Chrysostom’s Church, 1424 N Dearborn Pkwy, Chicago, IL 60610.  The family suggests donations in memory of Robert Herrick, either to Cabrini Connections, 1000 N. Orleans, Chicago, IL  60610 or to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Attn: Tribute Program (for nurses), 225 East Chicago Avenue, Box 4, Chicago, IL 60611.
