Yvonne A. McGee, age 84, of Menomonie, WI passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire, surrounded by her family.

The former Yvonne Ardis Couch was born May 23, 1929 in Beldenville, WI to Roy and Mabel (Fox) Couch.  She was a graduate of Hammond High School.

On Sept. 8, 1948, Yvonne married Richard “Bill” McGee in Hammond, WI. They lived in Glenwood City until moving to Menomonie in 1967.

After moving to Menomonie Yvonne started her in home day care, retiring in 1989.  Her deep love for little children allowed her to provide a wonderful environment for many children, throughout 26 years.

Yvonne was a great seamstress and she loved to crochet, making many things for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to go camping with her family.  Family was very important to her, and she cherished them immensely.  Anyone who met Yvonne loved her instantly and they became friends forever.  She will be sadly missed.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Linda DeMoe (Joe Gasperini); her son, Brock (Karen) McGee of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Jessica (Roland) Agustin, Josh DeMoe and Abbey, Sam and Kristie McGee of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Isabella Agustin and Eleanor DeMoe; a sister, Betty (Arnie) Yzermans; and her best friends of 71 years, Harold and Dorothy Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; son-in-law, Dennis DeMoe; her brother, Stanley Couch; and her pet of 14 years, Muffin.

Family and friends took part of a celebration and fellowship from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie.
