Coat Closet taking donations

Spring is here – so they say- but the Coat Closet shelves and racks are nearly bare.

In 2013 we gave away over 2000 items and helped 188 families.

While the Coat Closet distributions are done for the year, the work is not. Inventory will need to be taken. Then begins the challenge of finding more coats, boots, etc. for next year’s distribution. As always, shoppers are needed to hit the last thrift sales of the year. Cleaning out your closets, please consider donating to the Coat Closet. Cash is always welcome to help buy needed items. And don’t forget prayer support. God has blessed us with a wonderful ministry, please send up prayers of praise and thanksgiving for this wonderful opportunity to serve.

The Coat Closet provides warm winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, scarves, mittens and gloves free of charge. The Coat Closet reaches out to residents throughout Chippewa Valley area. No questions are asked about income or need. We do limit each person to one set of winter wear. Distributions are held throughout the fall and early winter. The Coat Closet entrance is located in the alley behind 510 Winter Street in Boyceville.

All used items need to be gently used, clean and in good repair. Cash donations are welcome too. They can be sent to the Coat Closet, c/o United Methodist Church of Boyceville, PO Box 94, Boyceville, WI 54725
