The youth of Holy Cross Lutheran in Glenwood City challenged the youth of Trinity Lutheran in Boyceville to a Food Pantry Challenge and it was game on.
The challenge took place during the month of February as both churches worked hard to raise money and food items to help the WestCAP Food Pantry.
Congratulations to Pastor Brad Peterson and the kids from Trinity as they brought in $730.29 and 161 food items to win the challenge.
Second place went to Pastor Diane House and the Holy Cross kids who brought in $462.00 and 87 food items.
That brought the total raised to over $1192.
Thrivent Financial sponsored the challenge and Financial Consultant, Joan Bartz presented an additional $500 to the cause in honor of the winning congregation.
WestCap Food Pantry Director, Melissa Wyss, gave the youth group from Holy Cross Lutheran a tour of the faciltiy located on Boyceville’s Main Street. The kids even spent some time cleaning, sorting and packing items. It was a great experience for all involved.
