Loris T. Groskopp, age 88, of Colfax, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at home while under hospice care with her family at her side.

Loris was born in Grantsburg, Wisconsin on September 10, 1925. She was the daughter of Alvin and Mabel (Nelson) Anderson. Loris graduated from Grantsburg High School. On June 21, 1947, Loris married her high school sweetheart Merlin Groskopp in Grantsburg.

A few years after marriage, Merlin began his chiropractic practice in Clear Lake, Wisconsin in 1950. During their time in Clear Lake Loris often worked by his side in the office. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church while in Clear Lake. Loris was a Cub Scout leader, avid golfer, she loved to fish and enjoyed many hobbies. Merlin and Loris retired in 1987 and moved to Lakeland, Florida. They enjoyed 20 years and many friendships at Schalamar Creek in Lakeland. Merlin & Loris enjoyed fellowship and services at Abiding Savior Church in Winter Haven, Florida.

Loris was a loving wife, wonderful mother and loyal friend. She loved to entertain family and friends with her wonderful cooking and baking.

Loris, thank you for all the happiness you brought to so many. You will be greatly missed, we love you.

Loris is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Lorna; and her beloved husband of 61 years, Merlin.

She is survived by one daughter Patricia (Bill) Liebich of Colfax; one son Dr. William (Theresa) of Menasha; five grandchildren: Clair (Chad) Teachout of Appleton, Dana (Alex) Zarling of Neenah, Ryan Ellickson of Appleton, Trent Liebich & Katrina Mueller of Anchorage, Alaska and Dr. Julie (Travis) Orth of Chicago, IL; two great grandchildren: Riley Teachout and McKay Liebich; two sisters: Louise Smith of St. Paul, MN, and Lucille (Travis) Olson of Traverse City, MI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28th at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m.
