BOYCEVILLE – Last Friday the Boyceville girls’ basketball team hosted their fourth annual Coaches vs. Cancer event and just over $7,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society.
Two hours before the game against Elk Mound started, people filled the commons to browse the tables that were covered in over 80 raffle and 12 silent auction items.
The winner of the biggest silent auction prize was Susie Hanestad who went home with a 60 inch flat screen television.
During half time of the game, there was a bean bag toss for three prizes. Sam Hellmann won a Metropolis hotel vacation, Shanna Swenby won a year’s worth of Buckshot Bar pizza and Cory Green won a Kindle Fire.
The winners of the other items were listed off after the game. Prizes included things like football jerseys, blankets, movie night bundles, and restaurant gift cards.
