Richard O. Rosen, born March 27, 1930 passed away January 13, 2014 at Baldwin Area Medical Center.

Dick was born to parents Sam and Florence (Thomas) Rosen in Dunn County. Dick attended Bolen Grade School and graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1948. He was married to Helen Bjorkman on June 6, 1952 at Connorsville, WI. Dick and Helen farmed for 7 years at his parents farm, (Maple Glen) and then in 1959 bought a farm six miles north of Glenwood. They lived there until their move to Glenwood City in 1985 where they have resided ever since. Dick embodied the true heart of a farmer, his lifestyle, identity and profession being his real passion was farming. Dick worked for Hager Auction Service for a few years after retiring from farming.

Dick served on many boards over the years, the Midland Board, White Birch school board and the Glenwood Creamery Board.

Dick enjoyed going to coffee with the guys in Downing and breakfast in Wheeler on Tuesdays. He also loved to shake dice and was very good at it. In the years past he loved going out West to deer hunt and in his home area. There were many years at deer hunting opening where he would be out on Thanksgiving morning in the woods and Thanksgiving dinner wouldn’t start until he was home. He also loved to do woodworking and made many things for friends and family. But, his number one enjoyment was farming and he told many stories about milking and just plain farming in general. The only thing he didn’t like about farming was picking rock. His family and friends knew that if there was a question about farming or dairying, they could always ask Dick. He loved talking about it. His knowledge will be greatly missed.

He was a great conversationalist, people were very important to him and he could strike up a conversation with anyone but did love his many friends.

Dick is proceeded in death by an infant daughter Linda, parents, brothers Tom and Russell and sister-in-law Norma.

He is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Lori Rosen (Robin) of Woodville, Lisa Bauer of Wawautosa; three grandchildren: Cory, Ben and Shannon; special family members Rita and Scott Buhr; nieces nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville with Pastor Bradley Peterson officiating. Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery, Township of New Haven. Friends may call Anderson Funeral Home, Glenwood City on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.
