Marjorie R. Kennedy, age 96, formerly of Glenwood City, WI died Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Carondelet Village in St. Paul, MN.
Marjorie was born June 17, 1918 in the Township of Forest, WI to Peter and Cora (Warner) Jackelen. After attending a rural school and graduating from Glenwood City, she attended teachers training, where she taught for several years. Marjorie married Edward Kennedy on June 28, 1945. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glenwood City, WI where she was active with the CCW. She was a member of the Emerald Legion auxiliary, Glenhaven Auxiliary and Glenwood City Historical Society.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, nephew Steven Dale, three sisters and three brothers Irene Dale, Lucille Wink and Doris Draxler, Joe, Walter and Clarence Jackelen.
Marjorie is survived by special nephew Peter (Kirsten) Dale of Andover, MN; his children Paige, Ethan and Braeden Dale, Brother Earl (Jean) Jackelen of Richfield, MN. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 21, 2013 at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father John Long as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
