KIMBERLY JEAN (STANDAERT) KJESETH

Kimberly Jean (Standaert) Kjeseth received her wings on December 16th, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kimberly was born on September 28th, 1966 in New Richmond, WI. She graduated from Amery High School in 1985, continued her education at UW La Crosse and then received an Associates Degree from WITC-New Richmond as an Administrative Assistant. In 1989, Kimberly was married to Todd Kjeseth. The marriage was blessed with four wonderful boys: Justin, Tyler, Zachary and Luke. She shared a special bond with each child.

As a teen, Kimberly worked at Maus’ grocery store. After earning her degree, she worked at Northwest Federal in Amery before joining the team at Farm Credit Services of Northwest Wisconsin at the Amery office in the spring of 1992. Kimberly worked at Farm Credit until joining her father at State Farm Insurance in Amery in 1998. Kimberly then received her calling to become a full time homemaker and dairy farmer. The city girl turned country girl loved her peaceful life on the farm with her family as well as her cats and cows.

Kimberly was loved for her wit, opinions and “say it like it is” personality. It was her nature to plan, make decisions and organize those around her; a natural leader. She lived her life making her home warm and loving. She was the heartbeat of the farm; taking care of the business, organizing the boys and even pitching in with the chores yet her feminine touch was always visible. Kimberly enjoyed watching her boys’ sports, March Madness, gardening, scrapbooking, genealogy, the Packers, and cross-stitching. She was an avid reader.

Kimberly grew up as a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amery. After her marriage, Kimberly became an active member of Deronda Lutheran Church. Through the years, Kimberly has volunteered for events, served as Sunday school leader, and held offices of treasurer and secretary. Kimberly’s faith and work in the church was a large part of her daily life.

Kimberly’s small statue was not reflective of her huge spirit. The quality of her caring ran deep and her energy sparked those around her. Kimberly’s faith, hope, and strength throughout this journey has been an inspiration to all of us.

Kimberly is survived by her husband, Todd of 24 years, children, Justin, Tyler, Zachary and Luke. Parents, Harry and Mary Lou Standaert, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ralph and Carol Kjeseth, Brother Kevin (Kelly) Standaert, Sister Kari (Matt) Berquam, brother-in-law Timothy (Becky) Kjeseth, brother-in-law Thomas Kjeseth, and sister-in-law Tami (Jeff) Bohlman and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
