Esther M. Drinkman, age 92, of Glenwood City, WI died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Woodville, WI with hospice.

Esther was born July 11, 1921 in the ownship of Forest, WI to Bruno and Ella (Preuss) Gebhard. She attended the Schindler School until she was needed to help on family farm. Esther later married Ervin Drinkman on November 28, 1937. They farmed in the Township of Tiffany, WI until December of 1971 when they moved into Glenwood City, WI. Following her husband’s death she worked at the Red Rooster in the Township of Erin, WI, where she was called “MA”. She also worked at Mady’s Lanes in Glenwood City, volunteered as a driver and took care of her son until his death. She enjoyed visiting over a cup of coffee, watching old movies and staying active with music, dance, outings to church, communion and the pet visits.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin in 1972, son Jerry, daughter Sharon Dahl, three Sisters and one brother.

Esther is survived by son Roy (Lynette) Pooler; seven grandchildren Christopher (Stephanie) Drinkman, Johnathan Drinkman, Beverly (Wayne) Alvermann, Wanda (Fred) Hofer, Curtis (Lisa) Pooler, Tim Pooler and Todd (Sue) Pooler; 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Adeline Gebhard. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday December 12, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery Downing, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December  11, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Thursday.
