Gordon L. Bechard, age 64, of the Town of Sand Creek, rural New Auburn, WI died Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home.


He was born May 10, 1949 to Arthur & Lorraine (Flatland) Bechard in Pierre, SD. He attended Ridgeland Elementary School and graduated from Barron High School. He attended one year of technical school and worked at Uniroyal in Eau Claire for 20 years before beginning his employment with Falls Dairy which was later AMPI out of Jim Falls. Gordon also owned the Bechard Trailer Court in Ridgeland for many years. On March 5, 1994, he was married to Pat Runkle at New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland. He enjoyed hunting deer in the hills behind his home and made several trips out west with his cousin Jerry. He also enjoyed working on his John Deere tractor, finally restoring it after 7 years to drive in the family’s annual tractor drive. He made a lot of friends throughout the years with his work, trailer court & loved to visit with anyone. He was an active member of the Pine Creek church and served on the church council there.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Robert Bechard, brother-in-law: Bob Bilodeau & father & mother-in-law: Clarence & Adeline Runkle. He is survived by his wife: Pat, son: Ryan (Kate) Bechard of Mondovi, daughter: Missy (Lance) Bale of Chippewa Falls, bonus son: Eric Mickelson of New Auburn, bonus daughter: Kari Mickelson (Steve Morgan) of Billings, MT, grandchildren: Jace & Jeron Bale, Serena & Lucas Bechard, Callie & Caden Mickelson & Jon Morgan, sister: Linda Bilodeau of Cameron, brother: Ronald (Jeannie) Bechard of Ridgeland & Wade Bechard of Ridgeland, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11 at New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church with Rev. Barbara Koch officiating. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday & also for the hour prior to services on Wednesday both at the church. Interment will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Sioux Creek, Barron County, WI. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
