ERWIN L. “BUD” LARSON

Erwin L. “Bud” Larson, of Downing, WI died Wednesday December 4, 2013 at Glenhaven Inc. in Glenwood City, WI, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday.

Bud was born November 16, 1923 in Downing, WI to Albert and Vera (Bible) Larson. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. Bud married Irene Goetkin on November 1, 1947 at the United Methodist Church in Downing, WI. Bud worked worked as a pipefitter with Local Union #434. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting. He was longtime member of the Masonic Lodge #254 of Glenwood City and later at the Menomonie Lodge #164. Bud was a kind and caring man.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents; high school sweetheart Irene in 1990; brothers and their wives Don (Geraldine) Larson, Vernon (Jan) Larson and Jerry (Marlys) Larson; brothers-in-law Dick Butler, Lynes Goodell and Ronald Stevens.

Bud is survived by two sons: John Larson and wife Charlotte of Glenwood City, WI, and Tom Larson and wife Vicki of Downing, WI; six grandchildren: Curt (Raquel) Larson, Nick (Tosha) Larson, Neil (Emily) Larson, Travis Larson and fiancé Lindsey Prener, Andrea and Haley Larson; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Keith (Carol) Larson; sisters Ramona Stevens, Sharon Butler and Lorraine Goodell. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Downing, WI with Reverend Mary Beth Scow officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Mound Cemetery Downing, WI at a later date. Friends were able to call at the church on Sunday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. A masonic service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
