Lillian J. Stubbs, age 77 of Kenosha, died on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center, from secondary complications related to her recent diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

Born in Baldwin, WI on November 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Walter and Frances (Colburn) Peabody.

In October, 1954 in Glenwood City, WI, she was united in marriage to Leo Schouten. Tragically, he was killed in an automobile accident in February, 1973. Lillian was blessed to find love again when she met Michael Stubbs. They were united in marriage in November, 1973 in Sioux Falls, SD. Many cherished memories were made on November 9th when they celebrated their 40th Anniversary with their entire family.

Lillian dedicated much of her life to raising her five children. She was known to be a fabulous cook and baker.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Stubbs; her five children, Lee (Sherrie), Larry, Lonnie (Debbie) and Lesley (Linda) Schouten and LaRae (Steve) Dyer; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Chuck (Debbie) Peabody; and two sisters, Donna Pohl and Evelyn Spielman.

Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering at the funeral home, 3720 39th Avenue to remember and share memories of Lillian’s life on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home of Kenosha, WI is handling the arrangements.
