Renee Scheidecker of Colfax and Neal Wininger of Colorado were married May 24 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire.
The Colfax girls defeated Elk Mound in basketball action 60-52 as Denise Kragness led the Vikings with 20 points while Stefanie Irwin scored 19 for the Mounders.
The Dunn County Zoning Ordinance Board of Adjustment has approved a special exception permit for an ethanol plant in the Town of Hay River, between Wheeler and Boyceville.

Bill and Kathy Stobb of Colfax are the parents of a baby boy, Nathan Frederick, born Nov. 8 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
Under the direction of Todd Kieffer, the Colfax girls’ basketball team started the season 3-0 as freshman Jodi Bosch scored 82 points in the three games, including 31 against Cornell.
Robert Ferry and Gaylen Olson of Colfax along with Keith Young of Elk Mound joined the Masonic Lodge and became Brother Masons of the Scottish Rite Valley Oct. 29.

Three new businesses in town will have Grand Openings this week including Seehaver’s Refrigeration and Electronic Service, Thrift, Gifts and Antique Shop and the Optometrist Office.
Five Colfax wrestlers won by pins including Steve Ebling, Shane Bohnen, Gary Swartz, Evan Bohnen and Jerry Marko in a 51-12 win over Eleva-Strum.
Mr. and Mrs. John Higbie of Colfax are the parents of a son, Patrick John, born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23.
Pastor Dean Fodness was installed at Colfax Lutheran Church Nov. 26, replacing Pastor Irwin Flaten.

Leaving downtown Dallas, Texas, following a tour of the city, President John F. Kennedy was killed when struck by a bullet from the gun of an assassin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Saumer at Niagara Falls, New York, a daughter Denise Lyn on Nov. 23.
Colfax downed Elk Mound in boy’s basketball action 57-51 with Jerome Vettrus scoring 27 points to lead the Vikings while Dave Dummer led the Mounders with 20.

Marriage vows were exchanged between June Snyder of Wheeler and Donald Bartilson of Elk Mound at Grace Evangelical church in Wheeler Nov. 27.
Acclaimed by many as the Northwest’s most beautiful Gamble Store, the Colfax Gamble Store is getting set for its grand opening in the Bronken Building on Main Street next week.
All rural amd state graded schools have been invited to compete in the fourth annual Minneapolis Tribune Spelling Bee to be held April 9.

At the S.S. Sivertson home in the Town of Grant Dec. 9, occurred the marriage of their son Sewall K. Sivertson to Clara Foslid.
Mrs. J.D. Burns entertained a company of twelve of her lady friends at a Sal-ma-gun-di party in honor of her sister, Mrs. W. C. Flitcroft. Each lady was to comb her hair and dress as she thought they would in 1925.
N. J. Lowry was here last Friday from Dassell, Minnesota and leased the Colfax Hotel of A.A. Owen and is to take possession Dec. 15.
