ALLEN D. KNUTSON

Allen D. Knutson, 75, of Colfax WI, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Chippewa Valley in Bloomer.

He was born September 1, 1938, in the town of Colfax, to Clifford and Ella (Pederson) Knutson.

Allen married his wife Elaine Tuschl at Elk Mound Town Hall on October 8, 1988.

He worked for the Dunn County Highway Department for 20 years. Allen was a member of Colfax Lutheran Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960 and in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1969.

Allen enjoyed spending time with his pony “Sweet Pea” and his cats. He also enjoyed listening to polka music.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gaylan, Vernon, and Raymond; and two nephews, Dale Knutson and Chad Knutson.

Allen is survived by his wife, Elaine of Colfax; two sons, Troy (Michelle) Knutson of Colfax, and Wayne of Caldwell, Idaho; and grandchildren, Eddie and Josie.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Grapevine Senior Center in Colfax with Pastor Les Walck officiating.  Military rights conducted by American Legion Post #131 of Colfax will be held immediately following the service. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. at the Grapevine Senior Center.  Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax at a later date.
