Tessa Jo Anderson of Colfax and Jason William Lockington of Arcadia were married July 26 at Christ Lutheran Church in Arcadia.
Lisa Michelle Nelson of Colfax and Korey Keith Rihn of Bloomer were united in marriage Sept. 13 at Holden Lutheran Church.
Colfax graduate Jeremy L. Wolfe, U. S. Army second lieutenant, has graduated from Army Helicopter Flight School at Fort Rucker, Ala.
For the second straight year, the Elk Mound football team won the conference championship by winning at home on the final night of the season, this time 13-7 over undefeated Spring Valley.

Jill Marie Jacisin of Chippewa Falls and Jeffrey Craig Rhude of Elk Mound were married Sept. 24 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.
Former Colfax resident Cleaborne Pecore of White Bear Lake, Minn, snared a Big Northern Pike weighing 15 pounds, eight ounces in the Red Cedar River Oct. 14.
Both Colfax and Elk Mound football teams ended their seasons with 5-4 records, tied for third in the ten team Dunn-St. Croix Conference.

Marianne Oleson of New Auburn and Russell Zimmerman of Fall Creek were married Oct. 14 at Holden Lutheran Church, Colfax.
The Colfax Lutheran Church was the scene of a wedding Oct. 21 for Sheila Amacher of Owen and Dale K. Haugle of Colfax.
A large group of people gathered at the Holden Lutheran Church Oct. 29 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the church building. The actual congregation was established in 1864.

Karen Kiekhafer of Colfax became the bride of Wm. J. Donagan Oct. 5 at Holden Lutheran Church.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Grant (nee Judy Tape), a baby girl named Kimberly Joanne Oct. 19 in Trinidad, Colorado.
Colfax ended their football season with a 38-7 win over Glenwood City for a 3-6 overall record and were 2-5 in conference play.

Former Colfax resident K. W. Hones, was elected one of the directors -at- large of the Wisconsin Association of Cooperative Board of Directors at a meeting held in Madison.
Since the double murder of two teenagers in Eau Claire more than a week ago, parents and young ladies of our area have been apprehensive of any strangers or strange acting persons that may appear.
Miss Daphne Buffington was married to Richard Wilson Oct. 16 at the Methodist Church in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

A wedding at the Methodist church last Sunday was solemnized by the Pastor, Rev. A.A. Marcy, the contracting parties being Mr. George G. Hunt and Miss Mollie C. Hill, both of Wheeler.
Peter Peterson, resident of this village since 1889, passed away on Thursday last week after a surgical operation. He was the owner of Peterson & Sons Mercantile business and was one of the first Trustees of the village when it was incorporated in 1904 and has the credit of drafting most of the ordinances enacted during his two terms.
