SMOKE POURED from the Frieburg Farm Equipment building Tuesday morning Ocotber 8. The Boyceville Fire Department was called to the scene of the blaze on East Street shortly before 10 am. Firefighters arrived quickly to find flame and heavy smoke coming from the building. Glenwood City and Menomonie Fire Departments were called to assist in battling the fire. The now shuttered farm equipment dealership, which is owned by Chuck Frieburg, was not occupied at the time the fire broke out but was still full of equipment, supplies and business records. Firefighters were still on the scene at the noon press time on Tuesday. The building is located across the street from the Boyceville Middle School/High School and school officials were told to keep students indoors due to the heavy smoke. Frieburg moved his farm equipment business into the building in 1986. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. —photo by Shawn DeWitt
