Exchanging wedding vows at St. John the Baptist Church in Cooks Valley Sept. 6 were Jennifer Bennesch and Charles Shelton.
A son, Mitchell Roger Austin was born Aug. 1 to Ellyn and Joe Austin of Eau Claire.
The Donna and Jerry Higbie farm near Colfax was honored as a Century Farm at the recent Wisconsin State Fair.

A boy, Breck Allan was born to Edith and Wayne McKee of Colfax Sept. 1 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
A 13 yard field goal in overtime by Jeff Prince lifted the Colfax football team to a 23-20 win over Elk Mound.
In the Sept. 13 primaries, Daryl Spagnoletti of Elk Mound earned the Democratic nomination for Dunn County Sheriff and he will now face off against Undersheriff Robert Zebro.

Mr. and Mrs Greg Rose of Colfax are the parents of a baby girl, Amber Lee born Sept. 22.
Linda Marie Slattery of Wisconsin Rapids and Michael Bernard Schindler of Colfax were married Sept. 16 at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper, WI.
The Norton Church was the scene of the marriage of Karen Jeannette Olson and Robert Leslie Snyder Sept. 2.

A son, Robyn Rene was born to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Lausted of Eau Claire Sept. 20.
A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kressin at Luther Hospital Sept. 25.
Lila Knutson and Marshall Whitted were united in marriage Sept. 20 at the Rural Parish parsonage in Colfax.
It was reported 8,098 bushels of pickles were purchased at a cost of $13,622.75 at the Colfax plant this season.
65 years ago – September 30, 1948
A total of 1,400 people witnessed the Colfax-Menomonie football game here last Friday night on the new lighted field. Colfax lost 25-0 however.
Miss Lois Schimmel of Elk Mound and Joe Satter of Colfax were married Sept. 18 in the parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer.
The marriage of Miss Joyce Smith of Menomonie to Dell Siler of Colfax took place at the parsonage of the Lutheran Church in Menomonie Sept. 22.
Miss Ruth Wendlandt of Colfax and Ralph Nelson of Minneapolis were married at Colfax Lutheran Church Sept. 25.
In a candlelight ceremony Sept. 26, Miss Pearl Elaine Olson of Sand Creek became the bride of Harlan LaVerne Harelstad of Chetek at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sand Creek.
100 years ago – October 10, 1913
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Chase, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Jay B. Viets, all of Colfax were guests of relatives and friends at The Builder abode in Eau Claire last Sunday.
The first meeting of the Ladies Reading Club was held at the home of Mrs. W.R. Brooks Tuesday afternoon and was a very pleasant as well as profitable meeting.
Last week was quite a lively market for the potato business as 95 railroad carloads of the tubers were shipped out in just four days from the Colfax depot.
