DALE E. NELSON

Dale E. Nelson, age 87, of Boyceville, WI died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie, WI.

Dale was born February 10, 1926 in Viola, IL to Paul and Eva (Thompson) Nelson. He served in the US Navy from December 9, 1943 until April 16, 1946. Dale married Marjorie Wurth February 23, 1947 in Viola, IL. They farmed in the Viola area until 1965, when they moved to Boyceville. They continued to farm and he custom cropped and combined until 2002, when he retired. Dale enjoyed breakfast out with his friends, going to tractor pulls, parades and watching NASCAR races. He has a large hat collection and loved his John Deere tractors.

Dale is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, parents, sister Ila Robinson and brothers LeRoy “Spud” and Dean Nelson.

Dale is survived by four children: Dale Lee Schuster of Madison, WI, Becky (Gary) Dunn of Boyceville, WI, Ricky (Cathy) Nelson of Cable, WI and Randy (Mindy) Nelson of Boyceville, WI;  13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Boyceville, WI with Reverend Timothy Matthaei officiating. Burial will be in the Tiffany Cemetery Boyceville. Friends are able to call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
