Mary Katherine Walker, age 71, of Glenwood City, WI died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her home in Glenwood City.

 Mary was born January 6, 1942 at Coffeville, KS to Daniel and Ola (Estep) Haefner. Mary was well educated and loved reading and traveling.

She was full of life, passionate, outspoken and firm in her ways. She enjoyed painting “a family affair” and gardening “dirt therapy”. She also loved her cats and chickens, all 24 pets and watching the cows in the pasture during the summer. Mary moved to Glenwood City to be near her best friend Kelly Clark and her home reminded her of her grandmothers’ home in Kansas and took her back to a more innocent time.

Mary is preceded in death by her son Kevin Lee Walker, father Daniel Haefner and sisters Ruthann Taylor and Janis Haefner.

Mary is survived by daughters Maryola Walker and Katherine J. Walker.

Grandchildren: Sarah & Adnan Chehaitelli, Sophia, Miriam & Adam El Hadidi

Mother Ola L. Haefner and sister Linda Maedgen. Best friends Kelly Clark and friend Richard L. Walker. She is further survived by aunt, uncle, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday.
