DOUGLAS K. SWENBY

Douglas K. Swenby, age 80, of Glenwood City, WI died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home at Havenwood in Glenwood City, WI.

Doug was born September 17, 1932 in Clear Lake, WI to Douglas M. and Harriet (VanBlaricom) Swenby. He graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1950. Doug later married Avis Stoner Nov 15, 1950 in Downing, WI. They farmed in the Downing area while Doug also worked for Hinman Construction. He loved his red tractors, attending tractor pulls and trips to Norm’s Barber Shop.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, wife Avis in 2011; great-grandson Joshua; brothers Selmer and Robert; and brothers- and sister-in-law Kenny Goodell, Jerry Stoner and Lorraine Swenby.

Doug is survived by children Danny (Marlys) Swenby of Downing, WI, Debby (Eugene) Klatt of Downing, WI, Denise Timblin of Downing, WI, David (Pam) Swenby of TN, Darrin (Beth) Swenby of Downing, WI, Dennis Swenby of Downing, WI, Darla (Robert) Utecht of Downing, WI, Devin (Brandee) Swenby of Downing, WI, and Dori (Scott) Goodell of Wheeler, WI; grandchildren Justin (Katie) Swenby, Nick (Sheila) Swenby, Chad (Jen) Klatt, Eric (Barb) Klatt, Ricky (Sara) Klatt, James (Nora) Timblin, Travis (Michelle) Swenby, Krystal (Scott) Woolever, Casey Swenby (Angie Kohler), Kayla Utecht, Logan & Megan Goodell, and Amber Timblin; great-grandchildren: Owen, Esdyn, Reyse, Madeline, Benjamin, Scarlet, Emily, Brandye, Amy, Ava, Bryn and Sawyer; sister Grace Goodell; brother- and sisters-in-law; Sharon Fouks, Karen Stoner, Violet Swenby and Sandra (Dave) Klatt. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Wheeler, WI with Reverend Craig Conklin officiating. Burial was in the Tiffany Cemetery Boyceville, WI. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
