Jessica Neal and Josh Mikesell, both of Colfax exchanged wedding vows Aug. 2 at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls.
John and Mary Jane Higbie, along with their sons Bob and Patrick will host an open house for their ultra modern dairy production facility on County Road M west of Colfax Aug. 23.

Dorothy Seger of Poplar and Craig Gorell of Elk Mound exchanged wedding vows July 2 at Mission Covenant Church, Poplar, WI.
Colfax graduate Ken Obermueller will be one of four athletes inducted into UW-Stout’s Athletic Hall of Fame Sept. 10.
A son, John Scott, was born Aug. 11 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Scott and Annette Peterson.

Mrs. Arthur Stobb was honored by friends and relatives at her home at Rt. 2 Elk Mound on the occasion of her 90th birthday.
The Colfax Merchant’s women’s slow pitch team ended their regular season by winning the Eau Claire Metro League Championship with a 13-1 record and the Menomonie Classic League with a 14-0 record.
The Colfax school board voted to increase the price of lunch by ten cents, making the elementary student cost 40 cents, high school students 45 cents and adults 85 cents.

Lois Hendrikson of Colfax and John Fadness were married August 10 at North Running Valley Lutheran Church.
A daughter, Becky Joyce, was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Tape of St. Louis Park, Minn. August 8.
Two boys and one leader received the Order of the Arrow at Camp Phillips including John Arntson, John Hougdahl and Chuck Billie, Sr.

Miss Marlyss E. Bitney of Bloomer and Gardie A. Lee of Colfax were united in marriage August 15 in Wabasha, Minn.
A group of friends and relatives gathered at the Mrs. Mary Bjork home in the village on Friday afternoon to help her observe her 84th birthday.
Remains of Pfc. Arnold Melgaard, age 32, will arrive in Colfax August 31 for reburial the same day at the Colfax cemetery. Melgaard was killed in action in North Africa in 1942.

At the United Lutheran Church in the village last Sunday, occurred the marriage of Mr. Albert Lefstad to Miss Margaret Orvold, both of Wheeler.
The Nordlands Stevne held in the I.S.W.A. Park last Friday and Saturday proved a grand success both socially and financially as a fine crowd, many from a distance away took part in the two day event.
If Wisconsin women want the ballot, it were well that they prepare themselves for citizenship by gaining at least a cursory view of government and legislation methods, political science, party organization and like important subjects.
