Highlights for Cucumber Fest weekend

BOYCEVILLE – This coming weekend (August 16-18) brings the annual Cucumber Festival in downtown Boyceville.

Starting things off will be the Tractor, Garden Tractor and Machinery Show at 6:00 p.m. The show will also be on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. and Sunday at 8:00 a.m.

Also Friday evening will be the “Ain’t No One Horse Town Parade” starting at 7:00 p.m. with a Saw Dust Dig for cash following.

The musical entertainment Friday night will be by “Last Page” in the Firefighter’s Tent starting at 9:00 p.m.

Saturday’s day long events will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the “OK” Cucumber 10K/5K Run.

Activities happening on Main Street will be the Car Show from 10:00 a.m-1:00 p.m., Carnival Games from 11:00-8:00 p.m., the Kasasa Kash Kube from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and the Pickle Eating Contest at 5:00 p.m.

Also that day will be the Badgers State Dirt Flingers Truck and Tractor Pull at 11:00 a.m. The annual Bean Bag Tournament at Buckshot Bar will begin at noon. There is also a Radar Run this year at the Municipal Airport beginning at 4:00 p.m. with pre-registration at the car show.

Wrapping up the evening will be fireworks at dusk at Pafko Park as well as music under the Firefighter’s tent by Over Drift, which starts again at 9:00 p.m.

The final day will begin with a Fly-in Pancake Breakfast and Air Show from 7:00-11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Starting at 10:00 a.m. will be the Community Worship Services and the Pie and Ice Cream Social.

Then at 10:30 a.m. will be the opportunity for people to meet the Ambassadors and the Grand Marshals.

The Grand Marshals will then lead the Grand Parade starting at 1:00 p.m. with the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull, Mini Golf, Carnival Games following on Main Street and music by “Chimney Fish” in the Firefighter’s tent.

Ongoing events throughout the weekend include the Men’s and Co-ed Softball Tournament, Outdoor Craft and Vendor Fair on Main Street, Sno-Jammers Chicken and Stuff the Bus with School Supplies.
