LINDA L. PETERSON

Linda Lucille Peterson, 66, of Colfax was taken home to our Lord on Monday, July 29, 2013. She died peacefully at her home, with the comfort of her family and hospice care.

Linda was born on June 23, 1947 in Amery, Wisconsin, to Porter and Lucille Peterson. She was raised in the Connorsville area and attended Boyceville schools.

Linda married Keith Smith on May 30, 1964, and together they raised three daughters, Annette, Kelly Jo and Melissa. They later divorced. The last 19 years were spent with her current husband, Hugo Bliss, enjoying their life together in a cozy log cabin along the Lemonweir River outside of Mauston. They were married on September 25, 2008, in Dunn County.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Schuman; and brother, Dale Peterson.

She is survived by her husband, Hugo Bliss; daughters, Annette (Michael) Knutson of Elk Mound, Kelly Jo Smith of Buffalo, Minn., and Melissa Rhodes of Nekoosa; five grandchildren, Kristin (Andy) Schmit, Brandon (Amber) Smith, Kayla Rhodes, Kyle Rhodes and Kyra Berggren; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Preston, Austin and Carter; her sisters, Mary Jo Edwards and Pat White; many loving nieces and nephews; and special friend, Barb Lorenzen.

A visitation will be held at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be given in Linda’s name at http://www.theaftd.org/  (The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration).
