Highway 79 work planned for mid-August
BOYCEVILLE – If you frequently travel Highway 79 between Boyceville and Connorsville you may want to map out a different travel route come mid-August.
That’s because the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WiDOT) has a project scheduled for that section of Highway 79 according to the DOT’s David Koepp in an email to an affected area resident.
Koepp stated in his email dated July 29, that the contractor would start work within the next few weeks to replace some culvert pipes and complete some minor grading. Then around the end of August the existing pavement would be removed and the road repaved. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during working hours using flagmen.
Furthermore, according to Koepp, in late September, Highway 79 will be closed from County Road O to Highway 64 to replace the Slovak Valley Creek Bridge with traffic detoured to County Road O and Highway 64. All projects should be completed by mid-November Koepp stated.
