Boyceville Bits and Pieces – 8-7-2013

Boyceville Bits and Pieces – 8-7-2013

Another week gone by. We are now starting in August. Wow, where did the summer go? The cool nights make for good sleeping.

August keeps my mind going on Pickle Fest. I would like to see the pickle kept in Pickle Fest. Thanks to Bob for giving me the idea of a pickle tree. So on Saturday morning, or any time bring a pickle with you name on it and hang it on a tree on my store step at This That-N-Everything. New this year! There will be Pickle Creations, Vegetable show (vegetables from your garden), and a flower show (inside this year).

Dee Brezina and Ruth Schutz visited Irene Link to help her celebrate 95 years. God Bless.

Stub and Linda Swenson celebrated their 50th anniversary with fellowship and they had a nice visit with their neighbors, friends and family. God Bless.

Shirley, Wes and Dale Bauer went to Grand Marais on Sunday, then on Monday to Grand Portage and to Pigeon Falls, visiting various places of interest that they had visited over 45 or 50 years ago. Then they spent time in Duluth and Superior on their way home. What fun in Grand Marais, watching the ships and boats on Lake Superior.

On Saturday I wasn’t in the store, because it was the Seeger family reunion at the Prairie Farm park. The park has wood animals after the wind went through a couple of years ago. There was a great turnout.

The United Methodist Church of Boyceville went to the United Methodist Church of Prairie Farm for women in the area on Thursday for a lovely lunch and interesting speakers. God bless our union of fellowship.

On Sunday afternoon we traveled to Durand to visit Don and Mary.

Remember that next Sunday there is a book signing for a lovely couple here in Boyceville with a story to tell. Phil and Doris Herdahl have shared their life in a neat book written by their daughter. God Bless.

Let’s all pray for Doris, Arlene, and all others facing health problems.

Let’s also remember us farmers – we need rain for the crops!

Keep me informed, call 715-643-2533. Also remember the flower show, vegetable show, pickle creation, pickle tasting, tall corn contest, and the pickle tree

God Bless,

Sharon
