MARION J. LOEW

Marion J. Loew, 73, of Bloomer, and formerly of Cooks Valley, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born July 23, 1939, in Cooks Valley, the daughter of George Sr. and Alvina (Swartz) Dachel. Marion married Chester Loew on November 28, 1959, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was also baptized, made her first holy communion, and confirmed. He passed away September 15, 2002. She was a lifelong active member with the church and altar society.

Marion served on the Colfax School Board for 30 years as clerk and President.

She is survived by two children, Martin Loew of Bloomer and daughter, Rachel (Gregory) Tschumper of Hudson; six grandchildren, Adam, Arden, Joshua, & Jeremy Loew, and Dylan & Riley Tschumper; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Loew, Chase Loew, and Justin Butterfield; one sister, Ione (Joseph) McManimon of Houston, MN; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Dachel and Jane (Greg) Sankey; two brothers-in-law, Arthur (Mary) Loew, Allen (Donna) Loew; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents; a brother, George Dachel Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Loew.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cooks Valley with Father Albert Sonnberger celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer where there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to Mass at church on Wednesday where the rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m.
