MILDRED L. BERANEK

Mildred L. Beranek, 93, of Tilden passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer.

Mildred was born on July 1, 1920 in the Town of Howard to Nicholas and Christina (Jenneman) Michels. She married Otto Beranek on June 14, 1941 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Stillwater, MN. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish in Tilden and was a member of St. Agatha’s Christian Mother Alter Society. For more than 30 years it was her pleasure to work for the Heyde Health Systems and the Northern Center in Chippewa Falls.

She is survived by one son, Terry (Mary) Beranek of Tilden; nine daughters, Patricia (Richard) Schneider of Bloomer, Mary Anderson of Bloomer, Anne Burroughs of Stevens Point, Joan (Fred) LaGesse, of Bloomer, Therese Hanson of Bloomer, Rose Lueck of Bloomer, Rita Stewart of Bloomer, Jane (Mark) Henley of Williamburg, VA and Nicki (Col. Michael) Coss of Fairfax, VA; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one sister, Marcella Pecha of Bloomer; one brother, Basil (Marion) Michels of Tilden; two sisters in law, Alvera Michels and Bernadine Michels; and a brother-in-law, Roland Schneider.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Philomena in infancy and Beth Beranek; six brothers; two sisters; and one great-great grand daughter.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden with Father John Mary Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Tilden.

Friends were able to call from 4 – 8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer and at the funeral home one hour before the Mass on Monday. There was a 7:30 p.m. Christian Wake Service Sunday at the funeral home.
