KEVIN W. RIECK
Kevin W. Rieck, age 42, of Colfax, WI passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Kevin unfortunately suffered a severe brain aneurysm resulting in a truck crash in which his daughter Kaely survived.
He was born September 21, 1970 in Menomonie, WI to Dan and Ann (O’Bryan) Rieck. He was married to Elisha Odegard in Sept. 1995 and became father to Kaely Rieck in May of 1999.
Kevin was raised in Wheeler, WI and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1989. He worked for Jerome Foods in Barron, WI on the turkey farms. He received his CDL license and drove feed trucks prior to working on the lines at the plant as an electrical mechanic. His interest grew for pursuing his commercial/industrial Journeyman license at CVTC in Chippewa Falls, WI. He was hired by NEI after graduation, where he currently had been working.
Kevin is survived by his wife Elisha Rieck of Colfax; daughter Kaely Rieck of Colfax; and his parents, Dan and Ann Rieck of Wheeler.
In addition to his hard work ethic, he also loved spending time with his family, camping, deer hunting, keeping up with his number one football team the Packers, and his favorite Nascar driver #24 Jeff Gordon. Since building his home in 2005, he loved spending time outside with family and friends. He especially loved the fall, his favorite time of year. As a young boy he spent a lot of time with cousins in Duluth, Colfax and Alma, WI.
Some of our favorite memories with him will be the trip to Alaska with his wife and daughter, visiting family in Duluth and teaching his daughter how to skip rocks on Lake Superior.
He was a man with a big heart, great intelligence and great generosity. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him and loved him.
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
