Boyceville Bits & Pieces – 7-17-2013
Well it’s been a long time since I picked up the pen. The weather, planting, plans and keeping track of where guys are working seems to keep my days busy.
Well on July 6th, it was a busy days. We went over to Dawn’s for Rib Fest. A full day of fellowship and food, and we ended up with a great show of fireworks.
On Sunday, July 7th the Baxter reunion was held at Deer Park. It was well attended.
On Wednesday July 10th we traveled to Farm Technology Day at Dallas. A very full day of all the new things coming to the farming business. Met a lot of Boyceville people there.
I had a nice surprise on Thursday. Gladys Pickrign and her daughter Bonnie Staves and Andy from Chippewa visited with me at the store. It is always so nice to visit and catch up with the family, then they had dinner at the Eagles Nest.
On Friday Loretta Wiehr from Livingston, TX has been up north. She spent Friday with Janett and I at the store most of the day.
The Town was full for the Ben Butler Benefit Auction. Quite a few stopped to see what I was about.
In the afternoon we went to Dairy Days at Prairie Farm for the parade at 3:00.
On Sunday we took our horse trailer to Eau Claire and loaded it and helped a family move to Emerald.
Then we went over to Dawn’s for supper. She had all the boys and their girlfriends, Murphy’s daughter and Brian and Candice Wolff for supper. Now I’m tired.
The Smith – Schlottman Family Reunion will be held July 21, 2013 at the Boyceville Community Center, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will be potluck, bring a dish to pass. I know other people have had just as busy weeks, so let me know. The St. Croix and Dunn Co. fairs are coming up. Everyone is busy. We are planning the Pickle Fest here. I also have 1/2 off sale on Avon and Christmas this July.
