National Dairy Month has arrived

By Kelsie Hoitomt

The month of June has arrived and that means across the state people will be celebrating our dairy industry with National Dairy Month.

The month long celebration kicked off with several events this past weekend including the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival in Little Chute, Walker’s Point Food Crawl in Milwaukee and the Cows on the Concourse hosted on the Capitol Square.

This weekend, June 8-9 there will be Dairy Breakfasts in the area with the Dunn County Breakfast in Colfax on County Road B on Saturday, June 8 from 7:00-11:00 a.m.

Then on Sunday, June 9 is the River Falls Town and Country Day, which will take place downtown, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Wrapping up the month will be the 12th Annual Cheese Curd Festival in Ellsworth the weekend of June 28-30. The parade is scheduled for that Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

There are several other events taking place throughout the entire month and they can be found online at the Dairy Days of Summer website.
