Wayne and Mary Ann Omtvedt will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home May 25.
Le Roy Martin Harris of Boy Scout Troop 42, became the eighth scout from the troop and 19th in Colfax history to earn the Eagle Scout Award.
The Colfax girls’ track and field team surprisingly won the six team home invite by 16 points over Boyceville while the boys’ team placed second behind the Bulldogs.

A son, Kevin Bradley, was born to Pamela (Koepke) and Bradley Dietsch of Rt. 2 Bloomer April 28 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
Born to James and Linda (Eder) Skoug, a son named Andrew James April 29 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Rhonda and Dave Hayden, Wausau, announce the arrival of their son Eric Michael, born March 27.
A son, Scott Charles, was born to Chuck and Jody Enloe May 14 at Hudson Memorial Hospital.
Named to the Colfax Area Nursing Home court were Bernice Wagner, attendant; Helga Teppen, queen: Russell Cartwright, king: Oscar Severson, attendant: Martha Styer, honorable mention.

Top ten students for the Colfax class of 1978 are Delores Mork, Tami Knutson, Bruce Lorenzen, Anne Wigdahl, Patti Ziebell, Shawn Matalas, Carol Lind, Craig Ubbelohde, Sharon Jones and Susan Fennie.
Eunice Freeberg, Colfax Village Clerk-Treasurer submitted her resignation to the board stating there were too many duties with her job for her to do. Lila Whitted, assistant clerk-treasurer also submitted her resignation.
Only two Vikings placed at the conference track meet in River Falls including Mark Lofthus, first in the discus (131’8) and third in the shot put (39’1) while Jerry Marko won the pole vault (10’6) and was fourth in the 440 dash at (54.81).

50 students will graduate from Colfax High School May 24 with Peggy Mannes as the valedictorian and Donna Rice as the salutatorian.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Fjelsted May 20 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Sundby, Rt. 1, a son born May 18 at Luther Hospital.

Seventy nine Colfax High School seniors reached the last milestone of high school education at commencement exercises in front of one of the largest crowds ever attending a graduation ceremony at the school.
Colfax ended the high school baseball season with four wins and four losses after losing an 11 inning contest to Menomonie 8-4. Tom Prince scored once, Yakesh scored a single run and later scored on a homerun by John Prince for the Colfax runs.
Nine children in grades 2-8 had perfect attendance for Colfax including Frank Butler, Richard Hendrickson, Suzanne Larson, Merle Longdo, Jane Klukas, Eugene Close, Steve Close, Ronald Hurley and Faylene Keilholz.

Miss Anna Dahl of Hay Creek, has accepted a position as clerk in the Dry Goods Department for the Colfax Store Company.
Mrs. R.J. Viets and little daughter Vivian went to Chippewa Falls last Friday to seek special treatment for the relief of the paralectic condition of the child occasioned from infantile paralysis with which she had previously been afflicted.
Dorothy, the nineteen-month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mittelstadt, was scalded quite seriously while playing about the washing machine when she pulled the cork and let the water out upon herself. By prompt action of those near, a fatal accident was averted.
