LAURA J. BROWN

Laura J. (Fransway) Brown, age 66, of Colfax, died peacefully at home on May 20, 2013 with her husband, children and beloved dog Sophie.

Laura was born October 11, 1946 in Chippewa Falls to Lloyd and Jane Fransway Sr. Laura grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High in 1965. She married Doug Brown February 19, 1977.

Laura worked for Amoco Chemicals, Whitetail Golf Course, Viking Bowl and retired from Myrtle Werth Hospital. She was a member of Barum Lutheran Church in Elk Mound.

Laura valued her time with her children, family, friends and especially her dog Sophie. Laura enjoyed flowers, gardening, crocheting, crafts, bowling, fishing, playing cards, trips to the casino, fine food and family get togethers especially Christmas.

Laura is survived by her husband Doug Brown, son Charles Brown and daughter Kayla Brown, all of Colfax; four sisters, Jackie (Lee) Hepfler of Chippewa Falls, Susan (Joe) Modl of Chippewa Falls, Sally Chartrand of Elk Mound and Jennifer Armstrong of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Roger (Sharon) Fransway of Chetek, Scott (Ellen) Fransway of Chippewa Falls, Joan Fransway of Chippewa Falls and Lollie Fransway of Elk Mound; three brother-in-laws, Don (Marcia) Henderson, Richard (Karen) Brown, Tim (Denise) Brown all of Colfax; two sister-in-laws, Jean (Arthur) Nabbefeld of Menomonie and Diane (Dennis) Schindler of Chippewa Falls; many nieces and nephews and special friends Patricia Cuddy, Patricia Knutson and Ron and Diane Hodgson.

Laura is preceded in death by her son, Chad T. Brown; her parents, Lloyd and Jane Fransway Sr., two sisters, Patricia (Arthur) Sedani and Mary Jo Fransway; three brothers, Lloyd Fransway Jr., Anthony Fransway and Samuel Fransway; Mother-in-law Eva Brown and Father-in-law Charles Brown, brother-in-law, Dennis Brown and two nieces Jeanie Fransway and Robin Fransway.

Laura passed from this earth the same way she lived – strong, independent and doing it her way!

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of Mayo Dialysis Center Menomonie, Dr. Mierhoffer, Dr. Rozich and Deb LaBudde.
