Food Harvest Ministry to celebrate 200th Distribution
Food Harvest Ministry will be celebrating its 200th Distribution with cake, refreshments and prize drawings.
The Food Harvest Ministry is a Faith-based organization that began distributing food September 1996. We are not a government program, but depend totally on donations to continue. We have NO paid employees. All workers volunteer their time free of charge so all donations go directly to the program.
We hold our distribution on the third Saturday of each month from approximately 10am to 11am at the Boyceville Community Center. Those who come for food have a choice of getting a prepackaged box or shopping for themselves. We set limits for those shopping so the value of each package will be the same to make it fair for all. The food is given free of charge with a suggested donation of $20. However, no one is turned away if they are unable to make a donation. There are no requirements and no questions asked!!! If you eat, you qualify! Everyone is welcome!
Because of the economy, our numbers are steadily increasing. Each month, on average, we are distributing over 300 food packages which feeds over 800 people. Since our program began in September 1996, we have given out a total of 38,251 food packages.
