SHIRLEY JEAN HIGHT

Shirley Jean Hight departed from life on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, AR at the age of 76 years old.

Shirley was born on February 21, 1937 to Dale Robert (“Bob”) Mounce and Emma Louise (Ford) Mounce in Lucas Township, Dunn County, WI. The family lived in Lucas Township, briefly near New Richmond, WI and in 1945 moved to Boyceville, WI where Shirley graduated from high school. She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955 and served until 1962, having achieved the rank of Sergeant (E-5).

Shirley married Jack R. Pines while in the military, and the two were blessed with 3 children: Jackie, Joey and Janeen.

On January 6, 1979, Shirley married Lyle Hight, and they lived in Boyceville until Lyle’s retirement in 1991. In 1993, they retired to Cherokee Village, AR. Shirley was a long-time faithful member of the Lutheran church, and was known for her involvement in both Peace Lutheran church of Cherokee Village and in the community.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle; her children: Cynthia (Hight) Swoboda and husband, James; Rhonda (Hight) Place and husband, Todd; Kathy (Hight) Deiss and husband, Daniel; Joey Pines; Robin (Hight) Wirth and husband, Ryan; Janeen (Pines) McCray and husband, Gene; and Leigh (Hight) Stansbury and husband, Timothy; her brothers, Gilbert Mounce and wife, Ardys; Harry (Bud) Mounce and wife, Mary; sister in law Marlene Mounce, and Selmar Mounce and wife, Betty, 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Neil and Joanne Fruit and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jackie Pines; and her brother, Virgel Mounce.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyceville, WI on May 18, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
