Pafko Park playground equipment expansion planned; Boyceville Lions Club leading $55,000 improvement project

BOYCEVILLE  — The Boyceville Lions Club has announced plans to expand the playground equipment at Pafko Park in Boyceville by adding an additional 2500 sq. ft.  of play area.

The new equipment will include 4 slides and 2 climbing walls.   The Boyceville Village Board unanimously accepted this offer and has designated funds to help with the purchase of the new equipment.  Members of the Club saw a need to improve/upgrade the local playground to be equal to playgrounds in the surrounding communities and decided to take action.

While the playground expansion is currently in the design and planning stages, fund raising efforts have already begun and almost $10,000 has been raised to date, with more funding events and activities planned for the future.  The club is also soliciting contributions from local businesses, as well as, large corporations doing business in the surrounding communities.  Donations are currently being accepted and can be sent directly to the club or to an account established at People’s State Bank in Boyceville.   The estimated cost of this project is $55,000.  This is the largest project ever undertaken by the local club and is in keeping with the parent organization’s motto “WE SERVE”.

The Boyceville Lions Club belongs to Lions Clubs International.  Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization and has 46,000 clubs, with 1.35 million members in 207 countries and geographic areas.
