Ruth Brook Zimmerman, age 79, of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, died on January 25, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on April 10, 1933, in rural Downing, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Ida Wold Brook. She grew up in the Connorsville area and graduated from Boyceville High School, Class of 1951. She married Marvin Zimmerman of Lake Mills, Wisconsin on March 30, 1957 in Madison, Wisconsin. Ruth was a resident of Milford, Wisconsin after her marriage and later moved to Lake Mills. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Jefferson County Home for many years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.
Survivors include two sons: Charles and Kevin (Brenda) of Lake Mills, and two daughters: Debra Brown of Allen, TX, and Connie (Larry) Wollin of Lake Mills, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as sisters Doris (Ray) Sells of Huntsville, AL, and Janice Norton of Ridgeland, WI, and brother Merlin (Anita) Brook of rural Downing, WI, sisters-in-law Linda Brook of Newnan, GA, Irene Zimmerman of Fort Atkinson, Mary Ann (Gary) Martinson of Jefferson, one brother-in-law Donald (Sandra) Zimmerman of Fort Atkinson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Laverne and Gerald Brook, two brothers-in-law, George Norton and Earl Zimmerman.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Mark Dressel officiating. Burial will be at Aztalan-Milford Cemetery.
