ROBERT FREDERICK YOUNG

Robert Frederick Young age 82 of Menomonie, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

Bob was born August 25, 1930 in Palentine Bridge, New York. He was the son of John and Pasha (Fear) Young and grew up in Canajoharie, NY. Bob attended two different design schools in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. Bob met his wife of 54 years, Mary Leach at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in New York City. They were united in marriage November 1, 1958 in Huelvelton, NY. Bob worked as a pattern maker/grader in the garment industry. He worked at Winer Sportswear in New Jersey for over 30 years. After the birth of their grandson, they moved to Menomonie in 1999, to be closer their family and only grandson. Bob enjoyed sewing and craft work. He also enjoyed watching game shows on TV.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary, two children, Chris Young of Menomonie; Missy (Don) Klatt of Downing; a grandson Corey Klatt; a sister-in-law, Martha Fisher of Cobleskill, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Paul Young; a brother-in-law, James Leach, two sisters-in-law, Octavia Vester and Ruth Peets.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie with Rev. Don Gribble officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery-Knapp.
