MARVIN ALLEN VOELTZ

Marvin Allen Voeltz, age 64, passed away unexpectedly Sunday February 10, 2013 at his home in the Twp of Forest, WI.

Marvin was born January 24, 1949 in Amery, WI to Orville and Alice (Tesch) Voeltz. He grew up in Twp of Forest, WI on the family farm as the 4th oldest of 10 children. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a life long member and church council president for many years.

Marvin started his education at Camp 14 School in the Twp of Forest, WI and graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1967. Following graduation, Marvin operated heavy equipment as well as helped on the family farm.

Marvin married Denise Warner October 22, 1977 at First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI. They continued the family tradition of farming beginning in 1978. In January of 1979, they purchased his grandparents’ farm in Forest. They were blessed with 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. He later purchased his parents’ farmland in 2009 and continued to farm until his death.

Marvin enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He had a strong passion for collecting Allis Chalmers tractors both big and small. Marvin loved to tell stories, jokes and striking up a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed tractor pulls, tractor shows and a good Friday night fish fry.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Preston Voeltz, and niece Brenda Cassellius Wink.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Denise. Children Lisa (Aaron) Moede of Emerald, WI. Brad Voeltz (Fiancée Sheanah Burnett) of Forest, WI. Michael Voeltz (Fiancée Jenna Pasch) of Emerald, WI. Melissa Voeltz (Fiancé Ethan Manley) of Rosemount, MN and Jordan Voeltz of Emerald, WI. Four Grandchildren; Gabrielle and Thomas Moede and Evelyn and Ayla Voeltz. Brothers & Sisters; Myron (Pat) Voeltz, Martin (Connie) Voeltz, Marlin (Cheryl) Voeltz, Mark (Lori) Voeltz and Monty ( Kathy) Voeltz, Charlotte Voeltz (Richard Champeau), LaVon (Dan) Cassellius, Lois Koosmann, Jeanette (Jerry) Ament. Mother-in-law Shirley Warner Buhr. Brothers & Sisters-in-law; Greg (Jolee) Warner, Geoff Warner, Mark (Deb) Warner, Paul (Betty Jo) Warner, Charlie Warner, Leanne (Matt) Bartz, Cindy (Kevin) Anderson, Sherry (Dale) Wirth. Aunts; Elsie Krueger, Thora Voeltz, Jean Voeltz and Joan Rosesnow. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Douglas Brandt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
