MILTON FREDRICK RIBA

Milton Fredrick Riba, age 94, formerly of Glenwood City, WI died Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Deerfield Gables Care Center in New Richmond, WI.

Milton was born in Swift Co., MN on February 18, 1918 to Fredrick and Amanda (Heldt) Riba. At the age of two they moved to the Township of Forest, WI where Milton was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended school at Camp 14. Milton farmed cattle north of town during the droughts. Milton married the neighborhood girl Myrna Hill on June 10, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, celebrating their 70th Anniversary in June 2011. They continued farming the family farm until 1973 when they moved to the Hill family farm. They moved into Glenwood City in 2005 and enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ.

Milton is preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrna of 70 years, brother Arthur, sisters Dorthea Kossman-Graese and Vera Hornbostel and  great-granddaughter Autumn Larson.

Milton is survived by children: Myra Larson and husband Warren of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Wayne Riba and wife Carol of Dresser, WI, Kathy Sandmann and Bob of  New Richmond, WI, and Dale Riba and wife Sue of Glenwood City, WI; grandchildren Rodney (Debra) Larson, Craig (Sharon) Larson, Amanda (Matt) Ropchak, Christopher (Tracy) Riba, Michelle (Troy) Knutson, Aimee (Christopher) Williquett, Sean (Daniella) Stephens, Shannon (Paul) Melzer, Dan (Tammy) Sandmann, Gary (Minnie) Sandmann, Stephanie (John) Cowles, Stacia (Joel) DeWitt, Brad (Amy) Riba and Laura (Jason) Fern; great-grandchildren Ryan, Michael & Jacob, Josh, Kate & Alaina, Katrina & Frederick, Eddie & Josie, Brady & Briana, Parker & Cole, Emily, Kendal (Tom), Hayley, Samuel (Brenda), Jackelyn, Isaac, Isabella & Lucas, Austin & Emma, Brody & Dillon, Jack & Audrey; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa & Tim, Logan & Oakley, Chacho & Elian. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and  friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Living Word Chapel in Forest, WI, with John Cowles officiating. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City, WI. Local arrangements by the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, WI.
