JEANETTE MAE NELSON BUSCH

Jeanette Mae Nelson Busch, age 80, passed away peacefully under the loving care of Parkview Nursing Home in Woodville, WI.

On March 21, 1932, Jeanette was born the youngest of six children to William (Bill) & Eva (Nielson) Nelson. She grew up on a farm north of Woodville, WI where she attended Maple Grove Country School prior to graduating from Glenwood City High School. While attending GCHS, she had no idea that her high school bus driver would one day propose to her! On June 10, 1950, Jeanette became the bride of Donald (Jim) Busch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood City, WI. Jeanette loved being a homemaker, and she and Jim were blessed with four daughters.

Jeanette was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City where she was involved with many church activities. Her friendly, smiling face was always welcoming to any and everyone.

Jeanette’s passion was playing tennis with her best friend, Lorraine Dickman, and several other friends. Lorraine and Jeanette would travel to Woodbury, MN, to play on the Senior’s League for several years. She was also a member of the local tennis league, winning several trophies and tournaments with her partners. Jeanette loved playing cards, playing the organ, and spending time with her family. Jeanette spent many wonderful years caring for her mother, Eva. She enjoyed traveling and experienced a once-in-a-lifetime trip to her parent’s homeland in Denmark, with her mother and sister, Jean.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald (Jim) Busch of Glenwood City, four daughters: Cheryl (Jerry) McCarthy of Chetek, WI, Valori (Larry) Zabel of Wabasha, MN, Gloria (Joe) Walz of Glenwood City, and Trudy Busch of Thackerville, OK. She is survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Nick & Cindy McCarthy, Paige & Colton, Michael & Codee McCarthy; Jay Zabel; Laura & Nate Rendall, Jenna & Jarod Evan, Dayna Walz; Andrea & Ryan McVeigh, Logan & Levi, Alicia Burr, Landon & Gavin, and Eva & Josh Brandle. She is also survived by her siblings Grace Albrecht, Woodville, Jean Kamm, Menomonie, Wally (Carolyn) Nelson, Baldwin, sister-in-laws Gladys Winberg, Woodville, Muriel Nelson, Chetek and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents William Walter (Big Bill) & Eva Nelson, brother Lawrence Nelson, sister Marie Geurkink, brother-in-laws Willard Albrecht, Harold Fern, Ray Winberg, Leonard Busch, Richard Kamm and sister-in-law Susie Busch.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Funeral services for Jeanette will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Diane House officiating. Arrangements are through Anderson Funeral Home, Glenwood City, WI. Burial will be in the spring.
