TERESA A. HUGHES

Teresa A. Hughes, age 58, of Knapp, WI passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire with family by her side, after a very courageous battle with cancer.

The former Teresa Ann Johnson was born July 9, 1954 in Menomonie, WI to Kenneth and Vernalee (Platson) Johnson.  She was raised in the Knapp area and graduated from Boyceville High School.

Teresa did clerical work for the Menomonie Police Dept. for over 20 years. She also volunteered extensively and helped run Plates and Knappkins food pantry in Knapp.

She married Dan Hughes on April 10, 2010 at Nashua, Iowa, and they made their home in Knapp.

Teresa loved spending time with her grandchildren and camping up north where she always welcomed family and friends.  She was also able to fulfill her lifelong dream of traveling to Hawaii.  Teresa will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughters, Stacey (Brent) Matson and Shannon Sorensen; grandchildren, Austen, Presten and Emmalee Rockwell, and Connor and Ryan Matson; a brother, Larry (Marjorie) Johnson; sisters, Mary (Steve) Gates and Roberta (Jerry) Thatcher.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Vernalee Johnson.

There will be visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor LeRoy Nelson officiating. Following the service there will be a lunch at the Knapp Hall where everyone is welcome.
