RAYMOND C. SCORE
Raymond C. Score, age 88 of Menomonie, WI died Monday, December 24, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness with his family by his side.
Ray was born June 6, 1924 in Dunn County, WI to Peter and Clara (Gregerson) Score. He attended Little Beaver Country School in Sheridan Township through 8th grade and went on to graduate from Prairie Farm High School. He worked with his father on the “home farm” in New Haven Township. On June 14, 1952 he married Dorothy Mae Kopas and in 1960 they purchased his uncle Olaf Score’s farm in Sheridan Township where he was a dairy farmer until 2006. Dorothy passed away in 1996. On June 10, 2006 he married Lenora Lausted and they moved to rural Colfax.
Ray was very active in his community and served on many “boards” over the years. The Dunn County Board Of Supervisors, for 22 years, Boyceville School Board, Ridgeland Farmers Union Co-op, The Tri-State Breeders and Dunn County Human Services, serving as president or chairperson on every one over the years. He was a lifelong member of Hay River Lutheran Church where was baptized, confirmed, served on the church council and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Ray was an avid deer hunter and in the past enjoyed playing dartball. He put his values in his family and was committed to watching his children and grandchildren participate in various activities. He was a wonderful, dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane (Steven) Brown of Menomonie; one son, David (Mary) Score of Boyceville; one sister, Phyllis Score; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Abdul) Shaheed, Michael (Jennifer) Bartlett, Kristina (Colin) Johnson, Peter (Ashley) Score, Jacob (Taryn) Score, Kari Wirth and Carly (Tristan) Kittilson; seven great grandchildren, Evan and Allison Bartlett, Layla and Danica Score, Clayton Score, London Wirth and Presley Kittilson; step-children, Darold and Linda Lausted, Dean and Pam Lausted and Dale and Rosemary Lausted; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy (1996); 2nd Wife, Lenora (2010); brother, Clayton Score.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hay River Lutheran Church, Hay River Township, Dunn County, WI. Burial followed the service at the church cemetery. Visitation took place on Wednesday evening December 26, 2012 after 4:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
